Lucienne Pierel Obituary
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Celina (Salvas) Godin. She lived most of her adult life in Cumberland and also resided in Narragansett for several years. Lucienne and Emile enjoyed spending winters in Florida for many years.
A dedicated homemaker Lucienne was quite talented at crafts, knitting and crocheting. She loved traveling and participating in several local senior citizens clubs including the Royal Travelers and the St. Joseph senior citizens group.
Lucienne will be remembered as a devoted mother and loved to spend time babysitting for her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 68 years she is survived by two sons Ronald A. Pierel and his wife, Nancy, of Cumberland and Daniel M. Pierel of Providence, and a daughter Celeste R. Brant and her husband, Tom, of North Providence. She was the sister of the late Joseph, Robert, Omer, Jean Baptiste, Phillip and Alberic Godin, Emilia Parenteau, Rose Pelletier, Marie-Annette "Doris" Frappier, Marie Plasse, Christiana Laquerre and Jeannette Poisson. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren Devin Pierel, Stephanie Cory, Crystle Pierel and Christopher Gaydos, 3 great-grandchildren Alexis, Gulianna and Shea and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Joan of Arc Church Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday morning from 8:30-9:30 am, prior to Mass, in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. www.menardfuneralhome.com

I remember Lucienne from the Golden Hearts Seniors,I was their Sunshine Person. I also knew her Sisters Jeannette Poisson and Marie Plasse who resided in Kennedy Manor. I drove Marie and Helen Kliisz to Yard Sales and Flea Markets on Sat. mornings. She was an exceptional Lady,as was Lucienne and the rest of her Siblings. God rest her Soul. Sincerely- Gloria Tripodi. I hope Emile is holding up as he wasn't too well himself. may the good Lord give him comfort at this trying time. Amen.

Dear Uncle Emile and family,
Our deepest sympathies go out to you all in this dark time. Aunt Lou was a special and loving person. I have and will always keep fond memories of the love and kindness she extended to me throughout my childhood and in my later life. God bless her and keep her in his peace.
