Paul S. Benoit

WOONSOCKET - Paul S. Benoit, 53, of Woonsocket passed away peacefully Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the companion of the late Randi L. Birkbeck.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Emmanuel and Lucille (Loiselle) Benoit, he had lived in Woonsocket for most of his life and had also lived in Foster, Manville and West Greenwich.
He worked for Winsor Forest Products, Foster for several years before becoming disabled.
He was a member of the Slater Mill Fishing Club in Pawtucket and a member of the Patriots bowling team at the Brunswick Lanes in Woonsocket. He was also an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. He served in the U.S. Army in peacetime.
He is survived by one son, Paul S. Benoit, Jr. of Westerly; three sisters, Suzanne Fontaine and her fiancé, Leo Roy, and Therese Vilandre, both of Woonsocket, and Margaret Adam and her husband, Peter of Cumberland; one brother, Roger Benoit of Northeast Palm Bay, FL; and several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his beloved dog and best friend, Jack.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 10 at 10 A.M. in St. James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. His burial will be private.
