Robert W. Boucher

WOONSOCKET - Robert W. Boucher, 80, of Jenckes St., Woonsocket, died December 9, 2018 at home surrounded by family.
He was the husband of Suzanne (McGee) Boucher, whom he married January 1, 1983. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Doris (Berube) Boucher.
He was a Firefighter for 32 years with the Woonsocket Fire Department, serving as Training Director then Deputy Chief prior to his retirement in 1994. He was President of the WFD Local 732, as well as a member of the International Association of Firefighters, WFD Relief Organization, Association for Retired Woonsocket Firefighters and former member of the Cercle Laurier.
He was an avid local sports fan, especially PC Friars basketball. He enjoyed fishing with family and friends on a lake, and in the Bay on his boat, "Pep's Toy."
Besides his wife Suzanne, Robert is survived by his three children, Gary M. Boucher and his wife Cheryl of Bellingham, MA, Brian R. Boucher and his wife Patricia of Warwick, and Joanne Schermerhorn and her husband Craig of Lincoln; eight grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Dylan, Allyson, and Nicole Boucher, and Alyssa, Hannah, and Ian Schermerhorn; one great-grandson Brayden Boucher-Sturgeon; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jean Plante.
His funeral will be held Friday, December 14, 2018 at 9:30 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Holy Family Church, 414 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 - 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to Hope Hospice of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904, or to the charity of your choice.
