REHOBOTH - Thomas Anthony Boisclair Jr. passed away on Friday, Sept. 23, at home, where he wanted to be.
Tom was the beloved and most precious husband of Rosemary. He was the devoted father of Gail (Karl) Johnson, Susan (Jim) Harney, and Thomas (Amy) Boisclair III. He was the loving grandfather of John (Lori) Leydon, Laura Leydon, Emily Johnson, Brianna Johnson, Noah Boisclair, and Anna Beth Boisclair. He also leaves three special great-grandchildren - Cody, Kaleigh, and Aidan.
He was the loving son-in-law of the late Maria Ferreira. He leaves 13 loving brothers- and sisters-in-law and their families - John (Elaine), Christine, Cezar (Mary), Joe (Reenie), George, Tony (Mary), Jacky (Jacki), Elizabeth, Ricky, Violet (Victor), Rachel, Laura, and Suzanne. He leaves many special nieces and nephews. He loved them all and was so proud to be a part of this big family. He was so grateful for their loving friendship.
Tom was a humble, quiet and faithful man who loved his God, his family, and his country. He was a devoted Catholic who practiced his faith with fervor. He served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Rim on a patrol boat where he performed rescue missions. After surviving the war, when so many of his friends didn't, Tom counted each day of his life as a gift and took everything in stride. He was a kind, generous, and loving man who had a kind word for everyone he met. He was a gentleman in every way.
Tom was an entrepreneur who started a number of different businesses. He was an expert auto mechanic. He built and raced cars. He loved to ride his motorcycle. He loved boating and the ocean. Most of all, he was a loving, supportive, and faithful husband and a loving father who adored his children. He spent many afternoons with his daughters and their horses. He thought Gail had so many talents and could do just about anything. He loved Susan's sense of humor and was so grateful for her many years of faithfully filling the bird feeders so he could watch the birds as he prayed. He thought Tommy was the icing on his cake and was so very proud of his precious son. For the last 25 years of his life, his work was to pray the rosary continuously throughout the day for all of his loved ones and for anyone who needed prayer.
Tom was the loving son of the late Thomas and Mary Boisclair. He was the loving brother of the late Margaret Boisclair, Anna (Ken) Johnson, Beverly (Art) Rollins and Mary "Lala" (Vincent) McGinn. He was also the former husband of the late Lillian Boisclair.
We thank Tom's doctors for their many years of loving care, especially Dr. McBrine, Dr. DuFresne, Dr. Kawaoka, Dr. McDonald, and Dr. Pigeon. We are forever grateful to Father Kieton for his pastoral care of and great friendship to Tom for so many years. It meant so much to Tom.
Tom, you leave a gaping hole in our hearts that will never be filled. We pray that you are with our loving God with whom you so desperately wanted to be. Jesus, we trust in you.
