Walter J. Jacques Jr.

CUMBERLAND - Walter J. Jacques, Jr., 81, of Manville Hill Road died November 8, 2017 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was born in Woonsocket and lived his early years in Blackstone. Walter was the son of the late Walter J., Sr. and Alma (Huntoon) Jacques.
A Veteran of the U.S. Army, Walter spent most of his career at the Foxboro Company and later as a U.S. military contractor for the Raytheon Corporation in the Marshall Islands. He was an avid golfer and a member of Whitinsville Golf Club. Walter was a kind, gentle soul, a great friend to many and loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his companion, Julie Tavares of Lincoln, a sister, Claire Santaniello of Woonsocket, as well as five nephews, Gordon, Lee and Douglas Marchand and Peter and Derek Reynolds. Walter was the brother of the late Barbara Marchand.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, November 21 beginning with visitation at 9:00 am followed by a service at 10:30 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket, RI.
