William Johnston Obituary

HUDSON, FL - William J. Johnston Jr., 82 of Hudson, Fl (formerly of Pawtucket, RI) passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the home of his caregivers, his sister, Ruth A. (Charron) and brother-in-law Robert Parkinson of Hudson, Fl. (formally of Pawtucket, RI & Barbados). He was the son of the late William J. and Jeannette E. (Bishop) Johnston of Pawtucket. Born in Providence, he lived on Sweet Avenue in Pawtucket for 76 years before moving to Florida.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a life long member of the Attleboro Elks #1014 and also the Aripeka, Fl. Lodge #002520. He had many great talents and hobbies. His love of Ireland, Notre Dame, fishing, ice fishing, guns, trivia and playing pool will forever be unmatched.
He was a gentle, considerate, funny, selfless soul with the ultimate love of his family. He is survived by his sisters Ruth A. (Charron) Parkinson of Hudson, Fl and Susan G. (Johnston) Jackman of North Attleboro, Ma., his niece, great-niece and great-nephew (caregivers) Brenda J., Heather J., and William J. Bryant. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. He was brother to the late David B. Johnston and Lewis E. Johnston. He was also the uncle of the late Sean D. Martel.
His funeral service will be held at St. John Paul II (formerly St. Leo the Great) 697 Central Ave. Pawtucket, R.I. On Friday, November 24th at 12:30pm followed by a mass of Christian burial at St. Mary's Cemetery 14 Park St. North Attleboro, Ma.
