Ed married Beverly Armstrong on June 29, 1963 in Freeport IL. They were married 62 years. They met at Skeets Drive-In on 11th, got into an argument over Bev throwing half a cheeseburger away and argued on and off ever since.

He also studied karate for some years.
He was the best father and papa, as he enjoyed family time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the backyard pool and cottage at Castle Rock Lake in Wisconsin. Ed and Bev spent a great deal of time traveling with friends and family for many years. He took fishing trips to Canada and Minnesota with his sons-in-law and friends. He loved to read and self taught himself how to fix and build just about anything, including muzzleloaders and restoring cars, especially classic cars.
