CHICAGO, IL – Joan Ann Ramirez, age 90, of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Born in Chicago, IL on August 18, 1934 to Eddie & Pauline Wojcik. A nature and animal lover, Joan loved spending time feeding the birds and squirrels, she especially enjoyed the early spring flower blooms and trees budding. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts. She is survived by children, Debbie Malley, Steven (Anne) Solik, Kimberly Solik, Wayne Solik, Michael (Colleen) Solik and Sharon Riley; grandchildren, Amera, Beth, Kerin, Anthony, Regina, Sarah and Tyler; sister, Helen (late Mike) Provenzale; numerous nieces & nephews and cousins; many dear friends; and beloved dogs, Mattie & Lily and kitty, Figaro. She is predeceased by her daughter, Linda (John) Simon; sister, Theresa "Teetee" (Paul) Rehis; and her parents. Celebration of Life Memorial held Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., Rockford. Cremation rites accorded.
