Richard Hermann Obituary

Richard Allen Hermann, 78, of Beloit, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at The Suites at Beloit Assisted Living. He was born on December 12, 1946 in Springfield, Massachusetts, as the eldest of three children to Melvin and Lorraine (Paige) Hermann. Rick grew up in Beloit, WI, where he attended Beloit Memorial High School. In 1971, he married Marcia Carratt and together they had one son, Les. After serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1968, he worked as a Police Officer for the South Beloit Police Department. He retired from Ryeco Inc. in Beloit following a career as a machinist. Rick enjoyed golfing, Wisconsin sports, watching action movies and listening to loud music. He loved to make a joke, and his mastery of The Claw made him one of the most prolific ticklers the world has ever known. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his son, Les Hermann of Pewaukee, WI; brother, Steven Hermann of Beloit, WI; sister, Carol Carratt of Ankeny, IA; nephews, Joshua Hermann, Jason Hermann, David Carratt and Darrin Carratt; and numerous cousins. Rick was predeceased by his parents. A Memorial Service for Richard will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, with Chaplain Mark Maxted officiating
