Sheila Janisch Obituary

Sheila Janisch and Kurt Janisch Sheila A. Janisch, OCDS, nee Slepicka, most recently of Durand, IL and previously Lake Summerset, Lake in the Hills and Wheeling, passed away June 21, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Kurt R. Janisch, Jr., who passed March 28, 2020 during COVID. Sheila was the daughter of the late Frank & Eileen Slepicka, and sister of Phyllis (late Stanley) Suchocki. Beloved mother of Mary (Michael) DeCarlo, John J. Jurik, the late Charles Jurik, Lawrence (Lisa) Jurik, Elizabeth (Boyd) Geiger and Kurt's daughter, Tammy Janisch. She was previously married to the late John C. Jurik. Kurt was the son of Kurt & Leona (Hainz) Janisch, Sr. Fond brother of June (late Sam) Cortese, Jeanne (Dale) Markowski, Mary (Ken) Lavengood, Diane Janisch, and Donna (Bob) Crown. He was previously married to Kathleen Janisch. Sheila and Kurt are also survived by many loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends. Visitation will start at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, at St. Mary Church, 606 W. Main St., Durand, IL to include reciting the Rosary prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the ceremony at St. Patrick/Irish Grove Cemetery, 5333 N. Irish Grove Rd, Davis, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation of America or to St. Mary Church in memory of Sheila.
