Dawn White

SHANNON – April Dawn White, 39, died at NMMC Gilmore Hospital in Amory after a sudden illness. Born on April 25, 1985 to Patsy Penelope Byrd and the late Ricky White, she was a graduate of Shannon High School in 2003 and attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford where she was a cheerleader. A lifelong Ole Miss fan, she cheered the Rebels every chance she got! Dawn was an Internet Sales Manager for Direct Auto. She loved her fashion trend of unique hats, collected many hats, and was always dressed to the 9s. Her smile was broad and her personality larger than life. Gifted with a beautiful voice, she enjoyed singing and listening to all genres of music. She developed a love of flowers from her mother, Patsy, and nothing relaxed her more than a fishing pole and a lake or creek and her beloved fur baby, Goldie. Dawn was a member of Mt. Zion MB Church in Verona.
A service celebrating her life will take place at 4 PM Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bros. Donnell Nichols, Lindell Nichols and Don Schaffer speaking. Burial will be private to the family. Dawn is survived by her best friend and mother, Patsy Byrd (special friend, Mike Heppe) of Shannon; her brother, Shun White of Mooreville; aunts, Melanie Cleveland, Kathy Beckett, Jean Manley, and Diane, and Uncle Randy White (Sonya); niece, Annabell White, and nephew, Brayden White; special friends, Nadine Griffin and Crystal Holliday. She was preceded in death by her father, Ricky, and Kermit Byrd, the man who raised her and devoted much attention to her well being.
Pallbearers will be Randy White, Jeff Smith, and Austin Beastie.
