I know it's been a long time sense his passing but I wanted to add my own memories incase the family saw this. My name is Cherie Arthur, when I would come to Stuckey's farm I was a kid... Cherie Dennis. Best friends with Levi Davis. (His family lived down the road at the time) Most of my best childhood memories come from going to his farm and riding in the Fairborn parades with him... Taking naps on Sandy, Prince Charles following us around like a giant puppy, polishing leather for a dollar, cleaning out stalls, and getting paid a dollar for whoever could stay on the colt the longest. Haha Picking up dropped pears for the horses.... old treasures everywhere, riding bare back, falling through the icy pond while hanging out with our gentle giants in the winter...
We thought he was amazing then and how he'd served... the history. We knew it, respected it but didn't hit home until I was adult. The Davis boys both served in the Military and I served in the Marines. Both our Dad's military. Now we're all married with families of our own. I am so grateful for Stuckey and the impact he had on us. I've drove by the farm a few times now. It's been a long time but still wish I could walk up to the porch and say hey when I'm in town. He meant and means a lot to me still. Thank you Stuckey.

I met LTC Stuckey in 1992 when I sold him my Jeep Grand Wagoneer. I was stationed at WPAFB at the time. I enjoyed talking with him and felt like I was in the presence of greatness. He was very humble about his exploits. A true American patriot.

I lived down the street from Col. Stuckey for years. He was great to us kids and would show us his Clydesdales with pride. He was a crusty old dude but we all loved his antics. We all appreciated the fact that he let us have the run of his property and covered for us when our parents couldn't find us. You were a great man to us Col. And I will always remember you with a great fondness. -Steve Purdin

It is with the greatest regret that I heard of Norm's passing. By the time I got the details, his services were over. I shall always regret that I did not attend. He was one of the very special people in my life. I will always remember the good times we had together and his love for machinery and his horses. Rest in Peace Old Soldier !!!

Condolences on your loss of Mr. Stuckey. This may sound odd but I think that I have purchased his 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood. I live in Traverse City, MI and purchased the car from a dealer in Fairborn, OH. I have done a lot of work on the car and have come across a former registration card With Norman D. Stuckey living at Upper Valley Parkway in Dayton. When I had some body work done on it I made sure to leave the military sticker on the front bumper in honor of the former owner. If you would like any photos of the car or more info. please email me at [email protected]. Thanks, Kirk

I really got to know Norm on a trip to China. It was an experience of a lifetime made even better by his being there. He outwardly appeared to be a curmudgeon, but he had such a heart of gold! Now he can visit everywhere in the universe without waiting in lines or dealing with schedules - I'm sure that he'll make the most of it! Rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of doing artwork for Norm many times over the years and never had a more thoughtful or more appreciative customer. Even though he had such an interesting and industrious life, he seemed more interested in you than himself and took the time to spread encouragement and express thanks. People like him are rare and it is wonderful that he lived such a long productive life.

I met Norm through Mensa in the 1980's. A few years later I passed through a gate at Wright-Patterson, noticed his name on a large monument in the adjoining cemetery and thought "Darn, I'm gonna miss him!" I nearly had heart failure when he telephoned me two weeks later on an unrelated matter! He had manufactured the monument in advance so it would be exactly the way he wanted it. Darn, I'll miss him - again!
