Charlotte Sizemore

Mrs. Charlotte June Whitaker Sizemore, surrounded by family, peacefully departed for her heavenly home on Friday, May 9, 2025. She was born in Yadkin County to Charlie and Zetta White Whitaker. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Rev. J.P. Sizemore, and by her siblings, Doris Hoots, Harold Whitaker, Icie Dinkins, Omer Whitaker, Eva Maines, Gail Edwards and Lorene Whitaker (infancy). Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie Poindexter, Kenneth Sizemore, and Robin (Jerry) Bryant; grandchildren, Scott (Shawna) Poindexter, Bridget (Alex) Ross, Brandon (Julia) Bryant; great grandchildren, Jonah (Stacy) Ross, Raven and Sawyer Poindexter, and Matthew and Lily Bryant; brother-in-law, Bobby (Darlene) Sizemore; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and "extended family", Moises (Esperanza) Vega.

Charlotte was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her priority was time spent with family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, and faithfully serving others. She had a heart of gold. Her quiet strength, resilience, and faith were a constant source of inspiration. A guiding light, she always offered support, encouragement, and unconditional love. She left an indelible mark on all who knew and loved her and will be truly missed. Charlotte spent much of her career with Hanes Company while simultaneously, as an integral part of ministry, assisting her husband with pastoring IPHC churches in NC and VA.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 2:00 – 3:00PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, with the service following at 3:00PM in the Gentry Family Chapel of Yadkinville with Rev. Tonya Sagraves and Kenneth Sizemore officiating. Interment will follow at Mitchell's Chapel Church Cemetery in Boonville.
