Albert Dehoff Obituary

DALLASTOWN Albert "Stiney" Dehoff, 83, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Manor Care Dallastown. He was the husband of Martha Hoke Dehoff for 47 years, prior to her death on July 8, 1996. He was born January 4, 1925, in York Township, the son of the late Allen Walter Dehoff and the late Esther Hildebrand Dehoff, and stepson of the late Helen Dehoff. Albert was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Dallastown, and a supporter of the York County 4H. He was also a member of DHIA, the Holstein Association, Ag Choice Farm Credit, and the Pennsylvania Farmers Association. Albert was a lifelong dairy farmer. In his younger years, he worked as a mechanic for his father's Chevrolet dealership in Dallastown and he unloaded lumber from rail cars for John H. Myers Lumber Co. Albert also farmed for Howard and Anna Myers, and then established his own farm and continued working for A.C. Rider as a well driller. Later, in the early 1970's, Albert formed the Albert Dehoff and Sons Partnership with two of his sons. Surviving are four children, Jack Dehoff and his wife, Sandy of Red Lion, Henry Dehoff and his wife, Patti of Airville, Raymond Dehoff and his wife, Jody of York, and Molly Coffey and her husband, Steve of Red Lion; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Donna Daugherty of York, Arlita Sharp of York, Esther Herbst of Florida, and Joyce Zinn of Quakertown; and one brother, William Dehoff of Red Lion. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carrie McCrary; two brothers, Clair and Paul Dehoff; and two sisters, Velma Strickler and Anna Mae Daugherty. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2008, at Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main St., Dallastown, with his pastor, the Rev. Lawrence A. Cunnings, officiating. Viewings will be Sunday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to York County 4H Center Endowment Fund, 112 Pleasant Acres Road, York, PA 17402; or to Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main St., Dallastown, PA 17313.
