I still think of Amanda often and miss her. I was a student of hers at York College and went on to graduate school. My thesis is dedicated to her. She greatly impacted my life both mathematically and spiritually.

I am 15 years old and Amanda Himes was my math teacher when i was in eighth grade. Before her i knew nothing about math. She was not just a teacher to me she was a friend. I know that she is in heaven now and that is comforting to me and i hope that fact is comforting for her family as well. I also know she is saved because she said she believed Jesus died on the cross was buried and raised again for her sins.These are two verses that we all are commanded to HEED to according to God not ME. John 14:6

If words were only so simple that we could express how we feel and the empathy we have for the family. Amanda, time has separated us over the years but the memories are so much more precious. What a light you have been to others and what passion you expressed through your work and to your children. You are not defined by tragedy but highlighted by your kindness and excellence in all you did. The greatest thing out of this we have a promise that we will see you again. Russ, Ann, Rusty, Nathan, Ben, Dan, you remain in my prayers. May great grace surround you.

Dear Russ and Ann, We just heard about this news last Friday from the Gideon Prayer and Praise List. It was a shock to say the least to read it. We can't begin to imagine how you felt. That's a lovely photo of Amanda. May you find comfort in knowing she is in the presence of the Lord. A Gideon card is on its way to your home. All our love and prayers.

So many memories...Mr and Mrs Blew,Rusty and Nathan there is no way to remember my childhood without you guys n Amanda. From "Spot the dog" to me and Rusty daring our little sisters to do stuff on the farm I have plenty to remember and smile about! Kate we will meet again. Till then rest in Gods arms.

Russ and Ann, I remember Amanda most from the days of the bus ministry you had at Red Lion Bible Church with my dad, Ray Rhone. I first remember Amanda being in the nursery with my younger sister, Beth, and watching her growing up from toddler to preschooler. My deepest condolences to you and to Rusty and Nathan. It's a tremendous comfort knowing that we will see her in heaven.

Kind, loving,caring, giving,honest,... and selfless...she has impacted many during her lifetime. I would have NEVER earned my BSN degree without her.

I had the privilege of having Amanda Himes as my teacher for 7th / 8th grade Math class and Russell Blew for 12th grade Math class. She was a wonderful teacher and ALWAYS smiled. My thoughts and prayers will go out to the family.

Mr & Mrs Blew, I hold so many memories of Amanda from school that will never be forgotten. As I was in the hallway crying just a few weeks ago at my grandfathers funeral she came up to me with her smile gave me a hug and told me it was ok he was where he wanted to be now back together with my grandma which I knew but the way she said it made my tears go away and made me feel better. We then "caught up" and hashed over old times and laughed at Kelly coming across some math papers she found with Mr. Herbert's drawings of me in his lil demo which if course made me laugh. We hashed over a few memories that day and there are so many more. She was a great friend and never looked down on anyone no matter what. Amanda you will be missed but never forgotten.

Professor Himes was such a happy and good person all over. I wouldn't be where I am if she didn't let me into her class that was already considered full. She was always there to help. I want to thank her for all that she has done for me. God please bless her sons who I feel so sorry for and give them the life she would have. Prayers go out to her family. Rest peacefully..

Amanda...a beautiful name for a beautiful lady.Inside and out.We will all miss your beautiful smile too. You are with Jesus and I know your family feels that smile from Heaven. I will always remember the love you had for Jesus. Once when Ben and Daniel were little and we were taking communion I asked you how you kept them so quiet. You said to me,"I tell them to think,"JESUS" and they said," we are, we are." What a good mother you were. We love you Amanda.

Amanda was a WONDERFUL mother, and a great person.
Ben was on our soccer team, and we remember her supportiveness and lovingness.
My husband also knew her from attending Red Lion Christian with her.
May the Lord hold Ben and Dan, as well as the entire family, close in his hands for healing.
Amanda will be deeply missed.

I can not think of one time that I saw Amanda without a smile on her face and a kind word. She will be missed by me and many, many others. The library will not be the same without her enthusastic spirit for learning and reading.

I miss you with all of my heart. You were my absolute favorite teacher. It is so sad that such an amazing woman had to leave us in this way. Amanda "Kate", as I knew her, was a joy to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her & having her in their lives.
Since I have known her since we were very young there are so many memories that I have growing up with her & Rusty & Nathan.
