Andrew J. Beard

YORK Andrew J. Beard, 48, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington. Born October 25, 1965, in Abbottstown, he was the son of Kenneth E. Beard of Hanover and the late Josephine M. (Matthews) Beard. He had been a painter for Harley Davidson. Andrew was a graduate of Spring Grove High School. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima. Andrew was an artist, enjoyed cooking and gardening and especially loved his children. In addition to his father, he is survived by two daughters, Samantha Jo Beard of Mt. Wolf and Alexandra Louise Beard of York; a son, Kyle Michael Beard of York; two grandchildren, Kylie Michelle Beard and Ayden Andrew Stouch; five brothers, Michael J. Beard of East Berlin, David J. and his wife, Christina Beard of York, Patrick J. and his wife, Marcia Beard of Abbottstown, Kevin J. Beard of Seven Valleys, and Bernard J. and his wife, Kimberly Beard of Abbottstown; a sister, Barbara J. and her husband, Douglas Hitchens of Blades, Del.; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St., York. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamb Foundation, 114 N.
