David Stricker Obituary

David Lee Stricker

David Lee Stricker was born on February 23, 1948 and suddenly passed away on February 18, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents Edgar & Gladys Stricker and Helen Heffelfinger. David is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou, daughter Emily Eisenhower and son David Stricker, Jr. and many loving family members from different states. He will be missed by so many of us.

Dave graduated from Tulpehocken High School, Millersville University, Penn State in the Master's program, and from Temple University as a Doctor of Education. He also spent two years in the Army from 1972-1974. In education he spent 38 years in school districts around central Pennsylvania. His last position was as Superintendent of Spring Grove Area School District in Pennsylvania. Most people called him Dr. Dave when he was Superintendent of schools. Upon retirement in 2009 Dave worked part time for Crabtree, Rohrbaugh and Associates, an architectural firm, as a school consultant.

David spent winters with his wife in Florida since 2012 and moved there permanently in 2019. He loved traveling in his motorhome around the east coast and beyond. His interests were kayaking, bicycling, camping, reading, and cars. Dave and Mary Lou were married for almost 46 years.

No service will be held in Florida, but later this year he will be buried at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Pennsylvania. Memorial donations may be made in Dave's memory to American Heart Association, National Center, 7272 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75231.

It´s 60 years since we started our Sr year at Tulpehocken HS. We only spent our Sr year together but our class bonded amazingly. We miss people like Dave and are proud of all his accomplishments. Thanks for the memories.

So sad to hear of Dave’s passing. Obviously I didn’t know him after college, but apparently he had a wonderful career in education. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I’m certain he will be missed by family and loved ones.

David and I were partners on the swim team at the Bernville Pool, but I never could beat him. He was a good friend and I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing.

Sad to receive this news of Dave’s passing. He graduated with my brother David and discovered we were 2 Nd cousins. Dave was sweet, kind and had a great sense of humor in high school. Proud of his lifetime accomplishments. We lost our brother David in June, sounds like in the same manner. May God give you all healing. Cherish your previous memories.

I was very fortunate to have David as a client and mentor when he joined us at Crabtree Rohrbaugh as an Educational Consultant. His prospective on education made us a better Architectural Firm.
My sincere condolences to David’s family. He will be missed.
