Grace Robertson Obituary

YORK Grace E. (Gladfelter) Robertson, 71, died peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2009. She was the wife of Richard E. Robertson, who entered into rest February 13, 2008. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. On Friday Faith United Church of Christ, 509 Pacific Ave., York, will hold a visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by a Celebration of her life at 11 a.m. Grace, born September 20, 1937, was the daughter of the late Harry and Naomi (Ross) Gladfelter of York. She graduated from Spring Grove High School and was previously employed by Dentsply International and PenSupreme. Most recently, she was employed by Sheetz and served as a coffee hostess each morning. Grace was an active member of Faith United Church of Christ, York. She was also a member of the Golden Nuggets and the Red Hats Society. Grace is survived by her daughters, Jennifer E. Smyser and her husband, Benjamin A. Smyser of Dover, Bonnie L. Flaharty of York, Pamela S. Harleman of York, and Kathy J. Parker and her husband, Eugene M. Parker of Norristown; grandsons, Brady L. Flaharty, Joel S. LeBendig, and Christopher M. LeBendig; and great-grandchildren, Bryan and Michael Flaharty, William and Lauren LeBendig, and Collin and Allison LeBendig. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce E. Smith, and brother, Harry W. Gladfelter. Grace will be remembered for her warm, loving smile, spontaneous wit, and comforting demeanor to all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to Faith United Church of Christ, 509 Pacific Ave., York, PA 17404; or the Cancer Patient Help Fund, York Cancer Center, 25 Monument Road, York, PA 17403.
