Jonathan Harris Obituary
West York
Jonathan E. Harris, 32, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at his residence.
Born October 27, 1983 in York, he was the son of Lloyd B. Harris, Jr. of West York, and the late Holly Saunders (Snider)Harris.
He was retired from the U.S. Army, having served as a Combat Infantryman, and as a member of the "Sykes Regulars" during Operation Iraqi Freedom. A highly decorated Veteran, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal with One Star.
He was a member of the West York Veterans of Foreign Wars, and had been a member of Christ Lutheran Church of York.
In addition to his father, Mr. Harris is survived by two daughters, Zuri A. Harris and Alexa H. Harris of York; three sisters, Lindsay E. Harris of York, Megan H. Sandhu of El Paso, Texas and Hannah M. Pugh of York; a brother, Andrew D. Harris of Baltimore; maternal grandmother, Constance M. Snider of Wellsville; and his former spouse, Andrea Harris of York.
Funeral services are scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at Christ Lutheran Church, 29 S. George St., York. Visitation will be 4 to 5 p.m.. Burial will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York, is in charge of arrangements.

My heart is with the family and mostly the girls! I used to work at the daycare they went to in West York. I know how much he loved those girls and they loved him! Even all that he went thru he always had a smile and was always friendly and had such a great disposition about himself. Thoughts and prayers are with the family. You are in my heart.

I am so sorry for your loss. I cared for both girls at the York Hospital Cild Care Center and knew John. He was always full of smiles and very nice. You could tell he loved his girls.

We are so sorry for the loss to this family. I have had the privilege to meet this amazing guy and watch his two daughters at the york hospital child care center. Every day he came in to get those girls, he had a big smile on his face. He lit up the room as soon as he entered. I could be having the worst day possible and after seeing his face and hearing him speak I was in a much better mood. Words can not express how sad I am for his loss.
