Richard A. Calhoon

MANCHESTER Richard A. Calhoon, 80, passed away at 4:12 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Oswald) Calhoon, whom he married 54 years ago on May 17, 1958. Richard was born January 27, 1933, in Racine, Wis., and was the son of the late Orlie and Frieda (Bittner) Calhoon. In 1951 he graduated from Park High School in Wisconsin and attended Business School in Wisconsin. He retired from Stauffer Biscuit Company after 15 years of employment and also worked for the Grand Union Tea Company in Lancaster; Washington National Insurance Company; Quigley Motor Company; and Animal Medic. Richard also owned and maintained apartments in the York Haven area. In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, Richard is survived by his three sons, R. Michael Calhoon and his girlfriend, Brenda Tanner of York Haven, Scott Calhoon of Pittsburgh, and Troy Calhoon and his wife, Nu of York Haven; three grandsons; one granddaughter; one step granddaughter; four great-grandchildren; and his brother, Robert Calhoon of Milwaukee, Wis. A viewing for Richard will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf.
