Shawn Lucia Obituary

WRIGHTSVILLE Shawn Edward Lucia, 33, passed away Monday, Septem ber 17, 2007, at Hershey Medical Center, after a lengthy battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. His playful and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of many whose lives he touched. Shawn was born August 6, 1974, in York, a son of Barbara Ann Lucia of Wrightsville. He is also survived by a grandfather, Anthony J. Lucia of York; grandmother, Gloria Lucia of Felton; and aunts, uncles and cousins. A graduate of Eastern York High School, Shawn went on to become an accomplished chef in and around York County as well as New Orleans, La., and Phoenix, Ariz. A Katrina evacuee, Shawn always overcame adversity with his optimistic and cheerful attitude. As an avid Star Wars fan, he lived his life with the knowledge of a greater purpose and a grand perspective beyond our vision. He attempted to live the ways of the force, as clearly seen by those who loved him most. A graveside memorial service celebrating Shawn's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Holy Saviour Cemetery, 3420 Susquehanna Trail North, York. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, is entrusted with the arrangements. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Shawn was a very loving,caring person. I came to know Shawn because I myself am battling cancer...no matter how rough he was feeling if I was having a bad day with it and he was online he would try his best to cheer me up. He was always telling me no matter how rough it gets remember there are gonna be better days ahead.Shawn will sadly be missed by many.
It will be the little things
that you will remember,
the quiet moments,
the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem
hard right now,
it will be the memories
of these little things
that help to push
away the pain
and bring the smiles

My brother and I grew up with Shawn in W-ville, he always had the ability to make you laugh. I last saw Shawn at graduation from YTI, he was so proud of his accomplishments. He will be sadly missed.

Shawn & I were friends in school & he alway's made us all smile. He alway's had the right words for any situation to make you forget whatever you were upset about. Always a friend no matter how long it's been since you have seen him, a smile & a hug! We will alway's remember his carefree spirit, that made him so unique! Alway's in our hearts & prayers with all of his loved ones.

Although I had only know you for a short time, but in that time I had grown to care about you. Although you are gone from this earth, you will not be forgotten. You will be forever in our thoughts. Barbara: There is no bond as great then between a parent and child.. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve. Hopefully Shawn is in a better place, free from pain. He brought a lot of happiness to Brittney's and Cameron's life, and I know they miss him so much.
