Bette Darlene Schulz-Pohlman

Bette Darlene Schulz-Pohlman, age 92 of Aurora, died Saturday, March 9, 2024 in Aurora. She was born on May 4, 1931 to Albin and Mary (Hennessey) Policky in Seward. On October 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to Melvin E. Schulz in Staplehurst. After Melvin passed away, Bette married Robert Pohlman.

Bette was a long-time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. She worked at Schulz Floor Service with her husband Melvin. Bette lived in Colorado for five years with Robert. After Robert passed away, she moved back to be closer to family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Bette was the "best mother ever" and was loved by so many.

Bette is survived by her children, Sharon Rybock of Corona, Calif., Julie (Carl) Viel of Grand Junction, Colo., Diane Richter and special friend Kevin Heine of Seward and Steve Schulz of Kearney; brother, LeRoy (Gerry) Policky of Arizona;11 grandchildren;12 great- grandchildren with one on the way; nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Melvin and Robert; son, Don; sister, MaryAnne (Lou) Dart and sister-in-law, Betty (Bill) Messer.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Metz Chapel in York, with the Reverend Mike Neidow officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in York. Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Metz Mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to Traditions Hospice in Lincoln. Condolences may be directed to her family at metzmortuary.com.
