Glen Pieper Obituary

Glen Alfred Pieper

November 5, 1946 - May 23, 2025

Glen A. Pieper, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and lifelong community servant, passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born on November 5, 1946, Glen proudly served his country and community throughout his life. He enlisted in the Air National Guard on January 3, 1966, and served as a Tech Sergeant in the NCOIC Training Security Police with the 155th Tactical Reconnaissance Group. His dedication to duty continued through his honorable discharge on March 10, 1975.

Glen was a devoted member of the American Legion, Post 212, in DeWitt, Neb., for 55 years. He held numerous offices and was a consistent presence on the honor guard, representing the values of service and respect for fellow veterans.

Glen's life was defined by his deep commitment to his community. Whether coaching youth baseball and basketball, serving on the town board, or volunteering with the fire department for 25 years, he always had time to give back to DeWitt. Known for his easy conversation and gift for storytelling, Glen never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to connect with people. These qualities served him well in his career as a salesman.

Above all, Glen was a family man. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather who took immense pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He could always be found cheering them on at their events or sharing their successes with a gleam of pride in his eyes.

Glen is survived by his wife, Laura Pieper of DeWitt, Neb.; his sons, Aaron (Terri) Pieper of Roca, Neb., and Jason (Jennifer) Pieper of DeWitt, Neb.; granddaughters, Rylee Pieper of Phoenix, Ariz., and Skylar Pieper of Roca, Neb.; grandsons, Cameron (Maddie) Pieper of Lincoln, Neb., and Blake Pieper of DeWitt, Neb.; and step-grandsons, Tyler Stumbo of York, Neb., and Trevor Cook of Lincoln, Neb.

Also surviving are his stepchildren: Randy (Regina) Pruitt of Cal, Mo., Rusty (Lois) Pruitt of Eldon, Mo. and Laura Lee (Jeff) Stanek of Alpharetta, Ga.; sisters-in-law: Connie Pieper and Elaine Pieper of Lincoln, Neb., Ruth Hess of Eldon, Mo. and Doris Lambeth of Noel, Mo.; brothers-in-law: Frank Vernon of Jefferson City, Mo., and Donald Vernon of Eldon, Mo.; and stepson-in-law: Mark Elliott Sr. of Eldon, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Laura Pieper; brothers, Donald Pieper, Roger Pieper, and Darold Pieper; and stepdaughter, Sherry Elliot.
