Jacob Michael Roosevelt, 22, of Winterhaven, CA, passed away on July 5, 2024.

Jacob was born to Lanette Roosevelt in Moreno Valley, CA, on June 7, 2002. Jacob's kind, lovely soul touched my people's hearts from there. Jacob graduated from San Pasqual Valley

Unified School District. He was a tribal member of the Quechan Indian Tribe. In 2018 he proudly held the San Pasqual Native Royalty Kwanamii "Warrior". He was very active is sports throughout his High School years with his top sport being wresting where we place third in the state championship, he also played football and baseball.

Jacob was a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend to all. He was loved by many people and will forever be deeply missed by all.

Jacob loved working as a Bar Back for the Quechan Casino and Resort. He also loved playing video games, attending UFC Fights and Dodgers Games, watching WWE wrestling, and caring for his dog "Bella". Most of all, he loved spending time with his niece and nephew.

Jacob is survived by his mother, Lanette Roosevelt; sister, Jessica Roosevelt; niece, Avery Marks; and Nephew, Brandon Marks Jr.

Viewing services will be held at the Yuma Mortuary from 2:00 to 4:30 pm on Monday, July 15, 2024. Crematory will follow at the Quechan Big house from 5:00 pm, Monday, July 15, 2024 to 5:00 am Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Pallbearers: 45 Wayman, John-Robert Sibole, Robert-Louis Methot, David J Roosevelt, Angel Della Roza, Stephen Wisniewski Jr, Angel Fierro, Zachary Moody, Randall Moody III, Jesus Galindo Jr, Stephen Ramirez, William Hill and Michael Roosevelt.

It's already been a year..i still haven't forgotten about you, I haven't gotten a chance to come see you..i still can't bring myself to do it, my heart knows you're gone, but my mind is still in denial...i still cry about you, losing you will never sit right with me..not at all..and I hope you know we all miss you a lot..rest easy Jacob...i love and miss you, always and forever...

I still look at this time to time, Jacob...still feels unreal and the months go by and I still hurt so badly in silence...i don't know how to move on with life knowing you're gone..i suffer in silence when I remember you're not here..i miss talking to you and hanging out during night time..life is so cruel..i wish I could visit you..but I can't bring myself to do it yet cause I can't accept this yet....i miss you a lot more than anyone knows...rest easy Jacob...

Lanette and Jessica im so deeply sorry for the hurt and loss that has happened..... you 2 are in my prayers love u guys and im here for u guys. Dang jacob l! I remember what you said when my husband died .... life is what you make it .... it stuck with me. Your words, love and encouragement always stayed and will always stay with me.... I'm doing just that jacob. I'm still in college and will do everything to see it through.... imma miss u because we had a friendship that truly was just ours. I thank u sweetheart for the gentle giant you always were. Loving and protecting your family is who u were.... your momma and sister really knew you had their backs throughout anything. I was very saddened to hear about Jacob´s passing. He was such a bright spot in my life and in the lives he touched... always had a smile to share. In high school, he liked hanging out in my classroom with the lunch bunch, and he was always upbeat.
I will always remember him as a true Warrior who was always ready to battle and ready to make his coach and his family proud, especially his Mama and cousins Brandon and Ryan. He terrorized opponents with his leg riding attacks. He loved wrestling and the fight game. He even put a bloody Nick Diaz as a phone saver on my cell which remained for years. I´m sure he would like to be remembered for his Warrior spirit and gentle soul. Thank you Jacob for being a part of my life.

Lanette my heart is broken. I just spoke with Jacob a couple of days before his passing. He was always happy and smiling. He gave me a hug and said Hi Miss Carlotta. There are no other words that I can say to you and Jessica. But that he is always in your hearts. May God be with you.
