My name is Rosita Brooks I was saddened to hear of Gary's passing . I was told by a family friend that he had just barely heard the sad news. Unfortunately. the services for Gary already took place.
My deepest condolences to all his family and friends.
My greatest memories of Gary was him marrying my cousin Mary Lucy.
Plus both starting our Murrietta generation to have a family reunion.

During this sad time for family and friends of Gary, I also wish to extend my condolences. I remember Gary very well from Jr. Hi at Ft. Yuma School. We both played basketball in the 7th and 8th grade at Ft. Yuma. I also remember him as a very thoughtful and polite friend. He reached out to me after many years of not hearing from him. We continued our phone friendship down through the years. It was always so good to hear from him and catch up on things. Always so tough to lose a long time friend. Big Al Durazo

Mr. Menta, a man of many words and the wisdom of a very Linguistic Intelligent Kwatsa'an Man. He could sit with you and tell stories of the Quechan and Cocopah Tribe. His knowledge about the historical nature of both Tribes, and throughout his lifetime he met prodominent dignitaries, if you haven't met him then you missed out on a great intelligent converstion with Mr. Menta, and he would give you facts not fiction. Our friendship was sincere and genuine, our friendship will truly be missed. My condolences to the family and friends of Gary. I also heard great stories of Gary and seeing his Quechan license plate made me ask about him and my mom was able to share his accolades he had achieved and what a good person he was. I am sure he will be greatly missed going forward but what stories all will share when he is mentioned. Gary will forever live on. Rest in Peace, you did a great job while you walked the earth.
