Tom V. Moorehead, Jr.

WESTERVILLE: Tom V. Moorehead Jr., 72 of Westerville, formerly of Zanesville, died Sunday, September 23, 2012 at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born September 29, 1939 in Zanesville the son of Tom V. Sr. and Helen "Lou" Louise (Anderson) Moorehead.

He was a member of Church of the Resurrection and served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Tom was an Insurance agent with Moorehead Insurance which he owned with his father for many years in Zanesville. He moved to Westerville in 1987 & retired from Englefield Oil Company in 2005. Tom was a member of the Amity Lodge Free & Accepted Masons of Ohio and a member of "The Kentucky Colonels".

Tom is survived by his wife Sandy (Smith) Moorehead of the home who he married May 1, 1986; one daughter: Kara Manz of Pickerington, Ohio, one son: Tom V. Moorehead III/New Port Ritchie, Florida, two step sons: Rick & Theresa Passwater of Columbus and J.D. & Stefanie Passwater of Pataskala; his grandchildren: Chloe Manz, Jessica Passwater, Caitlin Passwater, Taylor Passwater and Hunter Passwater; a sister: Jan Freisinger of Nashville Tenn.; Sisters in law; Stephanie & Dr. Stephen Hutcheson of Lancaster, Sally Stauffer of Columbus, Suzette & Bob Saltsman of Columbus and Stacie (Tom) Potter of Columbus; one brother in law; Sean Smith of Dresden and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Joan (Moorehead) Johnson, a brother, Doug Moorehead and a brother in Law, Dr. Gottlieb "Bud" Fresinger.

There will be no public visitation or services observed. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home is assisting the Moorehead Family. To sign the online register book or to send a personal condolence note please visit www.HillisHardwickFH.com
