Rosa Wilkinson Haney

Rosa Wilkinson Haney, 87, of Ruckersville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 18, 2009.

Rosa was born on January 28, 1922, the daughter of the late Pearl Ophelia Brockwell and Richard Michel Wilkinson.

She was predeceased by her husband, Garvey Daniel Haney; and her eldest daughter, Shirley Haney Deane.

Rosa is survived by two daughters, Joyce H. Groome of Charlottesville and Marcia H. Tanner and her husband, David, of Gainesville, Florida, with whom she was living with at the time of her death.

Rosa is also survived by seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and member of Ruckersville Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009, at the Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, with the Reverend Kyle Clements officiating. Interment will follow at Ruckersville cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2009, at the Ryan Funeral Home.
