Ralph Cosentino Obituary

Ralph "Ken" Cosentino
Ralph Kenneth "Ken" Cosentino, a resident of Stamford, CT, passed away on February 21, 2022 after a long illness.
Ken was born on May 12, 1946 in Stamford, CT, the son of Ralph and Carmella Cosentino.
In 1964 Ken graduated from Stamford High School and was a State Wrestling Champion that year. He studied architecture at Pratt Institute where he met his soulmate of fifty years, Susan Mitchell. At the outset of his career, Ken designed a modular housing system that was chosen by Gov. Rockefeller to win a New York State competition. After a few years designing modular systems in New York, he started his own company, R. Kenneth Cosentino Design & Construction, which he ran for decades, creating custom homes for long-time customers.
Ken was also a talented Italian cook and loved to whip up a storm in the kitchen, handmaking pasta and sauce from scratch, and was known for his legendary Feast of the Seven Fishes for Christmas Eve. He loved the game of golf and was a proud member of The Umbrella Club and the Men's Club of Hubbard Heights Golf Course. Next time you play there, think of him on the 11th hole pedestrian stone bridge walkway which he designed and built.
It is impossible to summarize such a complex and amazing person in a few paragraphs. Ken was so very loving, gentle, kind, and funny, and always helped others before himself. He was the best dad and brother in the world, an adoring husband and mentor to many in his field and otherwise.
Ken is survived by his wife Susan Mitchell, his daughter Samantha Cosentino, his canine daughter Isabella Cosentino, his brother Norman Cosentino and sister-in-law Barbra Cosentino, and his sister Marilyn Cosentino and brother-in-law Greg Simon.
Visitation services will be held on Thursday, March 3rd from 4:00-7:00 p.m., with sharing of memories at 6:00 p.m. at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. To leave an online condolence please visit www.lacerenzafh.com.
