I miss my dear friends Frannie and Bill. They were such an important part of the Atlanta community.

Bill and Frannie were big fans of Sterling Vineyards wine in the 1970's while I was the Sales Manager. He visited our Winery in Napa valley and I was a guest in his house on W. Paces Ferry Drive in 1977. Bill invited me to a special $5000 American Express dinner for 4 at the Midnight Sun Restaurant in Peachtree Center which defined mid-century fine dining. We enjoyed 19 courses, and 15 wines from a 1936 Sercial Madiera to a 1969 Romanee-Conti Le Montrachet. We were featured in the Atlanta Constitution's Sunday Edition and on the 11h00 pm live TV news. Bill was a generous and interesting man having founded MSA (Management Science America) accounting software. I will forever have fond memories of my time with Bill.

I was a French student in the 1990´s and Bill and Frannie welcomed me in their house, while they were absent! I spent my first night in the US in their house in Atlanta. They didn´t know me but they trust me. That was marvellous because I was so lost in this big country. I never had a chance to meet them while I was a student in UGA. I just found their name and as soon as I search about them I read that Bill Graves died recently and that the funeral will take place on Saturday. Life is strange. I wish I would have told him once again: thank you for what you have done for me! Valerie Michon from Aix-en-Provence - France

Bill and Frannie were dear friends who shared our common goal of a cure for Type 1 diabetes back in the organization's early years. It is very sad to learn of Bill's passing. He was an amazing leader determined to be sure JDRF was on the right track and a formidable fundraiser for the cause. I hope many fond memoiries of their tireless work will help mitigate the loss you children undoubtedly feel. Joan Beaubaire

Condolences to the wonderful Graves families. We were friends of both your mom and dad from years ago at JDRF. We served on the International Board and attended countless meeting together.
We carry the happiest memories of them both.

Dear Martha and Bill,
Leo and I have had your mother in our hearts since she died; you now have your father in that field of dreams beside her. As you know, our immediate bond with Frannie and Bill, when we arrived in Atlanta, was JDRF and its goal to find a cure for Type I diabetes. That bond survives our final destinations. Their greatest pride was the two of you, and the talents they employed to usher you into adulthood were beyond extraordinary, a benefit that flows to your own children. Martha, you will be in our fountain of wishes, as is our son, as we get closer and closer to treatments that are leading to a cure, an effort seeded by your parents, among the many others for whom activism on behalf of medical research is a driving mantra.
You both are part of a family that cares. Have no doubt; the world cares back.
