Christa Davis
Piermont, NH - Christa Davis passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Piermont on October 22nd, 2024 at the age of 63. She was born in Hanover, NH to Christa (Lehman) Harris & Beverly Harris. Christa's mother was remarried in 1968 to Clyde "Bud" Blanchard, and both predeceased her. Bud adopted Christa and her brother Greg and is who she knew as her dad.
Christa attended Woodstock Elementary and Woodstock Union High School in Woodstock, VT before moving south and living in Douglasville, GA. She later moved to Chesterfield, VA where she met and married David Davis in 1979. Together, they had two children, Melissa and Wes. They moved north to North Hartland, VT, but found their forever home in
Piermont, NH on her family's land. It was here that they built a home to raise their children. Christa was proud to call Piermont her home. She cherished the land around her home and embraced all the parts of country living, living an extremely full life. She would often share with others the love of the small waterfall and her view of Peaked Mountain from the home that she made there.
Christa worked various jobs over the years, including at Upper Valley Services, Dartmouth Printing Co, Winslow Graphics, First Student, Stagecoach Transportation, and ended her career at Butler Bus, retiring in 2023. She filled her retirement with supporting her family and helping Wes grow his business with Black Hill Electrical Solutions. She was a lover of all animals. She rescued cats and dogs, rode horses, kept some chickens, and, recently, a pet rabbit. Her real love and passion were her Samoyed dogs. She founded a successful breeding program and had been actively involved in the breeding and showing of Samoyeds for over 30 years. She produced many champions and national award winners under her North'Star name.
She was a longtime member of Minuteman Samoyed Club. Christa enjoyed participating in breed shows and made many friends in the dog community. Friends, near and far, would reach out to her for support and treasured her advice. Her wisdom was appreciated and valued by anyone who was fortunate enough to know her.
Christa was an extremely talented artist. She was a gifted painter and award-winning photographer. She loved spending her free time on a dirt road, at a dog show or at moose camp and enjoyed taking photos of animals, water, landscape and nature. The beautiful photos she took will allow all who knew her to hold onto a piece of her soul as we move on into the future without her.
Christa loved her family without limits. Her children and grandchildren were her entire world, and she supported them whole-heartedly in all that they did. She showed them her love through taking care of them, whether making meals to enjoy around her kitchen table, taking photos on the sidelines of their games and at school events, or spending drives talking about their lives. She was their sounding board for all life's problems and their best friend.
She is survived by her children Melissa Davis and partner Garrett Cook, Wesley Davis and partner Melanie Rhoads, her grandchildren Alex Ibey, Liam Davis & Amaya Cook, all of
Piermont, NH; her sister Sonja Blanchard and husband, Eric Weglarz; her brother Greg Blanchard and his wife Tracy & their children; her closest friends Judy Franklin & Lisa Green; and several beloved Samoyeds.
