Greenfield, MA - Bruce R. Bergstrom, 66, of East Wayland Drive passed away Wednesday 2/4/26 at the Hospice of the Fisher Home in Amherst. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 31, 1959, the son of Edwin and Ann (Benko) Bergstrom. Bruce attended local schools in New York and was a graduate of FDR High School, class of 1977. Bruce continued his education, obtaining his associate's degree from DeVry University.

Bruce was a sales associate for Home Depot for many years. Bruce was a well-liked and respected employee there; always able to help customers and contractors find what they were looking for. Prior to working at Home Depot, Bruce was employed at Valley Concrete & Construction. Bruce spent the majority of his life working in the construction field one way or another. He loved to do carpentry and said that he enjoyed being able to see the things that he built.

A lifelong and devoted Giants and Yankees fan in Red Sox and Patriots country, Bruce wore his New York loyalties proudly; bravely enduring decades of good-natured ribbing, which he gave right back with his trademark good humor and quick wit.

Bruce was a "deadhead" and followed his favorite band, The Grateful Dead, around the country in the 70s.

Bruce enjoyed deep sea fishing and sitting on the beach. He loved history and traveling, especially to England, Ireland and Spain.

Besides his beloved wife of 20 years Rachel (Goldman) Bergstrom, Bruce leaves his son, Anthony Bergstrom; two brothers, Eddie Bergstrom and his wife Patricia of Staten Island, NY and Greg Bergstrom and his wife Barbara of Brooklyn, NY; a sister, Karen Bergstrom of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews and a grand-niece.

Calling hours will be held Friday 2/13 from 5-7pm at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield.

There will be no formal funeral services.
