Hello Chris.
It's been a while since I wrote. Your mom is well along with Charlene and her boys. You have a great niece, and she is beautiful.
Your Opa passed away a few weeks ago and I'm confident you and your Paw Paw welcomed him to heaven. I miss you more than I can put into word. I'm so proud of the man you became, I wish I could tell you in person.
As I promised you, I will stay strong and protect for your mom and sister with my last breath. I Love You Chris.

Hello Chris,
Mom, Charlene and the rest of the herd are doing well. in 1983 I was so excited to welcome you into our life. That day I cried; I have a feeling in a few more days I'll cry more thinking of you and your 40th birthday.
I Love you Chris.

Hey Chris, I know we didn't know each other very well, but your father, and my father were very close. I wish I had gotten to know you more. How you were talked about was a big part of why I joined the grunts. First time I ever saw my father cry was over your loss. I don't know why it popped in my head, but i was just thinking of other brothers, and I remembered you. You were, and still are an amazing man to aspire to be, and even though we didn't know each other much I do love you. I hope you sleep well.

My memorial bracelet for you and a 250 dollar pair of sunglasses were “lost” somehow so I’m ordering a new one. I’m coming into havelock this week so I’m going to visit you, my dad and mr burkamp. It just seems so different now that our kids' are the next generation and already old enough to go off to war. On August15,2008 I had the distinct honor to meet the parents of this wonderful soldier and to hear his story. She, like myself, are one of the moms who gave our sons over to this country!. She is a very gracious lady and she has been one of very few people that know what I'm gong through as a mother. She is very proud of her son as I am of mine. . Each time that I think of my son, I will also think of yours and think that even though they did not know each other, they are meeting in heaven and both of them are looking down on us and that they did this not just for our country and what they believed as men, but also for us, as their parents!

He is now an Angel watching over all of you. He will be in my prayers. I hope & pray that our other brave soldiers will soon be home with their families to bring to an end the pain & worry they must feel. Thank You Christopher

As a Vietnam Veteran and the State Chaplain of the Georgia Society, Sons Of The American Revolution, I speak for our President, Charlie A. Wrapped in the integrity of service to our nation and the inestimable values of duty, honor and country, your American hero stood on a wall of freedom for us all. His life and his love of country epitomized every attribute of patriotism the Sons Of The American Revolution hold dear. And, as Americans, we could never repay the debt we owe him ..!! Nor the debt we owe you… his family!!!

This is strange. I'm sorry to say that I never had the privilege of Knowing Christopher despite the fact that he and I are apparently Second Cousins. I heard about this tragedy from my grandmother Barbara Stevenson just recently and have come here to offer my condolences to my distant relatives that I have yet to meet. To clarify my relationship , I am the Great Grandson Desmond Eldredge and the Son of Christopher's Mother Eva's Cousin Mary-Ann Stevenson. My Mom has been devastated by the news of the loss of her dear cousin's son, as were many who knew and loved him. I'm terribly sorry to all my relatives, distant and immediate alike, for what has happened. I give thanks to Christopher for his service in the armed forces with much regret to this horrible tragedy.

I wish to express my condolences to the Honaker family. There really are no words to express the sorrow I feel. Christopher and my son both loss their lives in the same battle. They put their comfort and lives on hold to fight our enemy on his home ground, instead of ours. Freedom is not free and our sons paid the ultimate sacrifice. Christopher Honaker is a name I will never forget. He shared a brotherhood with all the soldiers in the 173rd Airborne Brigade, including my son. We will miss them for the rest of our lives. They both are our true American hero's. God bless you all, Glenn Miracle, father of Pfc. Joseph Miracle

Chris:
I will never forget you and i think about you all the time. You were always bigger and better than just a friend could ever be. I will always remember you as my older brother. You always gave me the best advice i could receive regardless of whether i wanted to hear it or not.
What I thank you for the most is all the terrific memories and laughs that i will never forget. It's still so hard to believe that we will never be able to share those same moments that i cherish so much. Even before this happened Sean and I would talk about you nearly everyday. "hey remember that time when chris..."
It leaves me at ease that you found something that you enjoyed so much. I could only wish to god that i could get what you got out of life and that will never be forgotten by any of your havelock family, for this i assure you. As with others i'm sure, never have I been so proud of you and your memory will never fade.
Thank you for everything you've done for me.

What can I say that hasnt already been written about the caliber and bravery of this Soldier,my brother?
All I can really say to everyone is thank you for the condolences, prayers and unwaivering support of all family members and friends.
The pain I have felt since Chris's passing is unbearable. There is a gaping hole in my heart that will never be filled. I have spent many days sobbing until my eyes hurt and screaming for the days that have passed that I'll never regain.
I know my brother is a hero, and for that I am brimming with pride. A true patriot to this country he is without a doubt. I am the PROUDEST Soldier in the Army because I know my brother did a great job and was responsible for allowing the medics to treat his wounded comrade by suppressing the enemy as long as he could. What a courageous action on his part.
I love you Christopher then, now and forever. I will always carry you closest to my heart above all others. I am so proud of you.
Goodnight my sweet angel, until we meet again.
