Funk, Mark Jon age 58, of Eden Prairie, MN, passed on July 31, 2006. Born October 1, 1947 in Worthington, MN to Louis and Myrtle (Johnson) Funk. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, JoAnn Hoekstra. Survived by his loving wife, Cynthia (Tangeman); daughters, Amy (Jon) Cahlander, Kacie Anderson (Eric Paine), Sara (Matt) Intihar; sister, Karen Finne; brother, Boyd (Dee) Funk; brother-in-law, Donald Hoekstra; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Memorial Service 2:00 PM Friday, August 4, 2006 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 12th Street and Marquette Avenue, Minneapolis, MN (612-332-3421). Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers. I never met Mark, except through his writing, which I always enjoyed. I liked his upbeat sense of humor and his in-the-moment style. I also appreciated Mark's comments about the pieces I wrote. Mark will be missed on our little writing group (The Banyan Tree).

My belated sympathies to his family.
