I just learned this morning and was very saddened to hear about Wyatt's death. I can still remember the day I interviewed him for a position at the Boys & Girls Club. It was a hot summer day, about 98 degrees, and Wyatt's car broke. That didn't stop him - he rode his bicycle miles to get to the interview and when he arrived his shirt was plastered to him it was so wet with sweat. He got the job with his determination, heart and skills. I enjoyed watching him work with the youth in our organization over the years. Wyatt had such a big heart when it came to the youth. The kids LOVED him and there was nothing Wyatt wouldn't do to help the youth. He had a million dollar smile that lit up the room when he was talking about family or his kids. My heart goes out to you and your family during this time. May the memories he has given each of you make you smile.

To the family of my childhood and neighborhood friend: I am very saddened to learn of Wyatt's passing. I remember him as a great sports competitor and good friend. We grew up in the Maymont area in the near West End where we had great fun. I pray that the Lord will continue to bless you and keep you during your period of bereavement.
