JOYCE MANNING

MANNING, Joyce Ann Penland, was born in Augsburg Germany to Edward Bane and Fannie Mae Burchett Penland Sr. She departed this life on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at her home in Kenbridge, Va. She received her education in the Lunenburg County schools. She was a Training Specialist for Crossroads Services at the KREST Center in Kenbridge, Va. She was a community Activist and a charter member of the Lunenburg Jaycees. Joyce was a member of the Light of Hope Baptist Church, Blackstone, Va. She loved the Lord, her family and friends. Joyce would put others first before herself. Joyce leaves beautiful memories for the family to cherish: her devoted husband, Joel A. Manning of thirty four years; four children, Jared A. Manning (Crystal Spafford), Joshua A. Manning (Niki Parker), James A. Manning, Julie A. Manning; godchild, William A. Davis; brothers, Donald R. Penland Sr. and wife (Lucille), Edward B. Penland Jr. and wife (Tammy), Billy Joe Penland and wife (Kathy). The family would like to mention three very special people who were in her life and shall remain forever her sisters, Marilyn Davis, Lucille Penland, Jacqueline Williams; and her dog, Murphy. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Light of Hope Baptist Church Blackstone, Va. S. P. Jones & Son Funeral Service in charge of the arrangements, 208 N. Broad Street Kenbridge, Va.
