Kathryn "Michele" Courkamp (née James), 56, passed away on September 25 in Denver,
Colorado. Born September 26, 1968, in Guymon, Oklahoma, Michele spent her early childhood
in Boise City before her family moved to their farm south of Walsh, Colorado, in 1970. She
graduated from Walsh High School and went on to live a life defined by generosity, kindness,
and devotion to family.

Michele worked various jobs over the years, always finding ways to encourage and care for
those around her. While working at a youth detention center in Woodward, Oklahoma, she was
recognized as "Officer of the Month" for the meaningful connections she made with the young
people in her care.

Michele cherished holidays, birthdays, and any occasion to give a gift or bring joy to others. Her
beloved dog, Daizy, was her faithful companion for over 14 years. In her later years, she made
her home in Denver to be closer to her children and sister, where she found happiness in
running errands for friends at Dayspring Villa and spending time with her grandchildren,
granddogs, and nieces.

She is survived by her children, Christian Courkamp, Brylee Courkamp, and Cassi Courkamp;
her grandchildren, Valex and Daxsen Courkamp; her brother Lance James and his wife Pam;
her nephews Zach James and wife Callie and their children Kelseigh, Tanner, Tyler, and Lucas;
Randy James; and niece Kelly James and her children Braston, Raiden, and Corben. She is
also survived by her sister Kimberly James and her daughters Mina and Myla James.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynda Carol James and Frank L. James; her
maternal grandparents, Edgar and Thelma Brown; her paternal grandparents, Sherman and
Clara James; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Michele wished for her life and services to be dedicated to Jesus, her parents, and her children.
Her love, warmth, and thoughtfulness will be remembered and carried on by all who knew her.
