Clovis Harrell Obituary

Clovis Allen Harrell, 78, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Ashtabula County Medical.
He was born November 20, 1934 in Hawkinsville, GA, the son of Matt and Alene (Humphrey) Harrell and had been a Painesville resident most of his life, before moving to Ashtabula in 2010.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for Morton Salt, Diamond Shamrock, and the Lake County Public Works Department where he was proud to have worked on the beautification of the floral clock in downtown Painesville.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served from 1954 to 1957 just after the Korean Conflict before being honorably discharged.
A member of New Hope Baptist Church, Painesville, he loved the outdoors and just about anything you could do there, especially fishing, hunting, gardening, canoeing, rafting, and camping. He also enjoyed his sister's dog, Chance and listening to the Temptations.
His survivors include three children, Lolita Moore, Vanessa (Lonzo Pollard) Harrell, and Clayton Harrell, all of Ashtabula; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ola Litton of Painesville.
He was preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Myrna Dyer Harrell; a granddaughter, Latasha Moore; and his parents.
A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. with a service to follow at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Peoples Baptist Church, 3837 West Avenue, Ashtabula. Rev. German Womack, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville with full military honors.
Contributions may be made to the family in c/o the funeral home.
