Eleanor Lillian Carter

Eleanor Lillian Carter, 81, of Charlottesville, departed this life for her eternal resting place on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Trinity Mission.

Eleanor was born in Albemarle County on July 19, 1928, the third of four children to the late Lewis Carter Sr. and Lillian Carter.

She received the Lord as her savior at an early age and remained an active member of Zion Baptist Church in North Garden as long as her health allowed. She was a Sunday school teacher and she enjoyed singing as a choir member.

Eleanor was educated in the Albemarle County School system. After graduation, she was a hard working, independent woman.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Carter was predeceased by three brothers, Lewis Jr., Bennet and Herbert Carter.

She is survived by a host of cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2000 at J. F. Bell Funeral Home with the Reverend Shirley Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
