Janet Sprouse Mallory Janet Sprouse Mallory, 56, of Turkey, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2010, at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 1, 1954, in Charlottesville, the daughter of Franklin R. Sprouse and the late Lena Morris Sprouse.

Janet served her country for 13 years in the United States Army, where she worked in Transportation. After leaving the service, she and her twin sister owned and operated Sprouse's Logging LLC.

She leaves behind her twin, Janice Sprouse Brown and her fiance, Denney Ratliff, of Edinburg, Virginia; a brother, Wendall Sprouse; a sister, Joyce Lawson and her husband, Jessey; a sister, Denice Sprouse; two daughters, Melissa Fitz and Wendy Colvin and her husband, John; five grandchildren, Randall Fitz, Samantha Trainum and her husband, Ian, Kayla Willis, Adam Fitz, and Carissa Colvin; a nephew, Dennis Taylor and his wife, Angie, and their three children, Cody, Jennifer and Kaylee; and a great-grandchild on the way.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Holly Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Michael Jordan officiating.

Sorry for your loss, Janet was one of my neighbors. She was a very caring person and was always there for us if we needed anything. Janet will be greatly missed!

I'm so sorry to hear of janet's death. I talked to her until she left for Virginia. She was my parents neighbor. (Norman and Pearl Corbett) She was very good to them until they passed away and I have often told her how much I appreciated it. My thoughts are with the family.
