I also had met Mr. Shelton in Nelson County, I am a friend of Walter Potter, they had property that bordered one another . It was really neat to here him speak about his experiences being in the band that continued where Glen Miller left off . It was an honer to have met him, as truly he was a member of the " Greatest Generation" . God Bless.

I am so sorry to have stumbled on Mr. Shelton's obituary. He was a good friend that I enjoyed spending time with up in the mountains of Nelson County, VA. Mrs. Shelton, Kim and I think of you and Mr. Shelton often. Hope you are doing well.

I was fortunate to have met Bill on few occasions and to have purchased one of his personal Conn trombones. I think of him every time I play it and am thankful for his legacy of kindness and joy surrounding the making of music (especially on the trombone).
