Robert Stephenson Bruns, 88, devoted husband of Patricia Pickell Bruns, died Saturday, February 25, 2023.
Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late William Lucas and Ailene Stephenson Bruns.
Mr. Bruns graduated with the The Citadel's class of 1957. He then proudly served in the United States Army and Army National Guard. After his military service, he enjoyed a career working as an electrical engineer. Mr. Bruns enjoyed spending time traveling across the United States in his motorhome. However, he especially enjoyed spending time with is family during their annual vacations at Pawleys Island.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia Pickell Bruns, his two sons, Robert Bruns, Jr. (Angie) and Walter Bruns; daughter, Elizabeth Bruns Thomas; a brother, John Gwinn Bruns; six grandchildren, Maria Meetze (Don), Lauren Larymore (Scott), Virginia Noel (Matt), Kathryn Bruns, William Thomas, Emily Bruns and four cherished great-grand children.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin Bruns and brother, William Lucas Bruns, Jr.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 04, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown followed by the memorial service at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Miracle Hill, 490 S Pleasantburg Dr, Greenville, SC 29607 or to a charity of your choice.
