Douglas Almond Obituary
Edwards Small Mortuary announces the passing of Mr. Douglas Almond. Douglas entered into eternal rest on June 22, 2023. Our deepest condolences to the family and friends.
Douglas R. Almond was born on June 12, 1952 in Vienna, GA to the late Mr. Alter Lee Almond and Georgia Mae Almond.
Douglas attended public schools of Dooly County and graduated from the Industrial High School in Dooly County. He also attended Massey Business College in Jacksonville, Florida and Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins, Georgia
Douglas was a hard-working man who provided for his family. Following enlisting in the US Army which was his passion; after serving his country for 22 years he retired. He began to do odd jobs after retirement which included working for Serta and the Dooly County School System.
Douglas departed this life on June 22, 2023. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and dedicated wife of 15 years, Vondell Almond; children: Gina and Tameka; step-children: Arlesha, Dameo, Ralphiel and Henry; two grandchildren: Quinita (Bedrous) Bennett, Tamia Almond; two great granddaughters; Aarayln and Ashley Bennett; siblings: Randall (Valerie) Almond, Debra (Carlton) Hollis; Doris Goode, Frankie (Barbara) Almond, George Almond and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
