A long-awaited day arrived on Sunday, June 11, 2023. This was the day Mom got her wish and completed her mission on earth. She had been surrounded by many family members and passed peacefully.

Leah Hacking Gale was born in Cedar Fort, Utah on April 2, 1929, to Wayne Ezra and Arvilla Berry Hacking. She shared a happy childhood with her family. At age 13, she was named Lehi Rodeo Queen. Her father had shared his knowledge and skills of horsemanship with her. After graduating from Lehi High School, she was the first of her siblings to go on to college at Brigham Young University. She became a life-long BYU fan.

She served in the Central Atlantic States Mission. Missionary service was something she treasured always. After returning from her mission, she married John W. Gale in the Logan Temple.

She loved many sports, both as a participant and spectator. Her favorite was tennis, which she played regularly until she was 78 years old.

She enjoyed serving for several years as a service missionary at the Conference Center and as a volunteer at the Brigham City Community Hospital.

She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities. Her testimony and love for the Savior, temples, and eternal families never wavered.

Leah is cherished and survived by her four children, Craig Woodruff Gale (Cynthia), Jeffrey Hacking Gale (Theresa), Debra Gale Bate, and Lori Lynn Gale-Hess; many grandchildren, and even more great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her five siblings, Gayle, Bessie, LuJeanne, Bruce, and Lynn; a son-in-law, Michael Bate; a grandson, Justin Hacking Gale; and two great-grandsons.

The family appreciates the loving care provided by the employees of Courtyard at Jamestown, Provo, UT, Maple Springs Assisted Living of Brigham City, and Aegis Hospice.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Brigham City 20th Ward Chapel, 650 Anderson Drive, Brigham City, UT 84302. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Interment, Saturday at 4 p.m. at Cedar Fort Cemetery, W 200 S St, Cedar Valley UT 84013.
