Law Jones Cremation and Funeral Care- SavannaLouise Pearl Weaks, born on April 18, 1936, in Hanover, Illinois, passed away peacefully at Big Meadows Nursing Home, in Savanna, IL, on October 31, 2025. The daughter of John Stewart and Lenora Bills, Louise grew up in Hanover and graduated from Hanover High School in 1956.
Shortly after graduation, she began working at the Green Giant canning factory in Lanark, Illinois, before embarking on a long and dedicated career at General Electric in Morrison, Illinois, where she worked for over 30 years until her retirement. During her time at GE, she was an active member of the Gem Women’s Club, forming lifelong friendships and contributing to her community.
On December 24, 1956, Louise married the love of her life, William Frank Weaks, on the family farm. This became a union that blossomed into a life filled with devotion, warmth, and family.
Later in life, Louise found spiritual fulfillment as a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Freeport, Illinois. Her faith was a quiet but steady presence in her life.
Louise had a deep love for nature and found joy in tending to her garden and relaxing by the pond in her yard. She was a gifted homemaker, known for her canning, quilting, sewing, and needlepoint. Her hands were always busy creating beauty and comfort for those she loved.
Above all, Louise cherished her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave, the traditions she nurtured, and the memories she created.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Robin Weaks, of Mt. Carroll; daughter-in-law, Sharon Weaks, of Rapids City, IL; grandchildren, Jeremy (Darcy) Weaks, Andrew (Courtney) Weaks, Amanda (George) Drake, Tiffany Houzenga, and Damien (Jessica) Housenga; great grandchildren, Brianna, Joaquin, Justus, Jaxon, Levynne, Michayla, Noah, Barrett, Blaire, Teagen, and Cade; great great granddaughter, Gracelynn; brothers, Everett (Dee) Stewart, Bob Stewart, and Glenn Stewart; and sisters, Betty Stewart and Gladys Knautz. Louise is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; brothers, William and Frederick Stewart; sister Catherine Richards; son, Ron Weaks; and daughters, Cindy Houzenga and Penny Weaks.
