Catherine Stakem Obituary
Mrs. Stakem is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lawrence Stakem, her daughters, Laura Hoffman (James) and Anita Neal (Chris), her sons, Michael and Steven Stakem, and her grandchildren, Sarah, Amanda, Karlin, and Jimmy. She is also survived by her sisters Marie Blumer and Eleanor Taafe, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Stakem family will receive friends at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Rd, Woodbridge, VA from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 at Our Lady of Angels, Woodbridge, VA at 10:30am. Mrs. Stakem will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct, Glen Allen, VA, 23060 or St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105

mom, it's been six months. every day i close my eyes and see your face. i hear your voice in the soft breezes, remembering things you taught me and try to pass them on to our sarah. i miss you so very much. i love you mommy!

Well Mom, it has been a month. We all miss you so, especially Dad. You kept us all together and all strong and we are all finding the strenghth to carry on just like you would want. We miss you and love you so very much, but you knew that.

Happy Birthday Mom!!
We went to Olive Garden with Daddy, Mickie,Sarah and Mike and me. We missed you, but we shared stories and laughed. It was a good feeling to laugh.

I was so sorry to hear about Mrs. Stakem's passing. I will always remember her as the mom who would drive us all to school when it was raining and the only mom in the neighborhood who could legitimately wear a bikini!
