Mildred Sullivan Mildred "Mickey" Sullivan, a 50 year resident of Manassas, passed away unexpectedly December 1st, six days after her 86th birthday celebration.

Born in Richmond, Virginia she was preceded in death her parents, John and Minnie Dixon, older brother John, twin brother Marvin and younger brother George. Mickey and husband of 32 years, Lawrence C. Sullivan, Jr. of Blackstone, Virginia, moved from their home in Rich-mond to Manassas in 1960 with their four children to whom she dedicated her life and love.

Devoted Library Secretary at Bennett Elementary School until her retirement, Mickey joyfully shared her gifts of baking, decorating, balloon and flower arranging. She served as a "pink lady" at Prince William Hospital and was active in the Women's Club, Garden Club, Wildflower Society and Baptist Church. Mickey traveled, combed beaches, played bridge, played tennis and golf, bowled, supported her Mary Washington College reunions and was a repeat medalist in State Senior Olympic competition.

A beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother "Gi Gi", Mickey is survived by her four children and their families: Barbara McRee and Ken Johnson; son Jason Lesnik, wife Marie and children Ethan and Alexandra; and, daughter Paige Lutz, husband Willie and daughters Hannah and Katie; Janice Sullivan and husband John Bates; Nancy Ritchey and husband Jim; son Jimmy, wife Stacey and baby boy Ritchey to be born any day; and, daughter Ashley; and Lawrence Sullivan and wife Candy; son Jay, wife Elka; and, daughter Jamie Lynne;

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. this Saturday, December 4 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas. Funeral services will be held at Manassas Baptist Church on Sunday, December 5 at 2 p.m. Interment will be Monday, December 6 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia. Oh I just heard the news and am so very, very sorry. I absolutely adore Mickey and am so sad to hear about her passing. I wish I could have paid my respects. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time

Mickey was more than a sister-in-law, she was the sister I never had. She was a wonnderful mother and a helpful and loving aunt to my children. We shared many good times and memorable trips together; her love and kindness will always be remembered.
