My sweet Uncle Big,
I saw you last about 6 weeks ago, and you still had that smile and twinkle in your eye. You had just made a casserole for a church function--still planning for the future and living life to the brim in your 90s. The grapes we picked from your arbor that day were the best. For 59 years you have been my favorite uncle. God bless, and thank you for your service to our country. Rest in peace now.

He was an amazing (and very good looking) man. I send this on behalf of my mother who has many, many wonderful stories to share that we shall cherish always. May God be with you

Twyla and Tom/ Woody and Sarah - We are so sorry to hear about "Big". (I called him the "Candy Man".) He was like a father to me growing up. We just heard the news around 11:00 today, so it was too late to plan to come over. You are in our prayers and may you find some comfort knowing friends are thinking about you. May God Bless!
