If every peron had a Coach Caughron in their life the world would be better place. He was one of a kind.He was my track coach at G.W. High School in 1952-1953 and made me a state champion and an ACC hurdle champion. He was a quiet gentleman but when he said something you listened and knew it was right. God Bless Coach

Coach Caughron's impact reached well beyond the Woodberry campus. As a young girl, I so appreciated Coach Caughron's guidance, his quiet acceptance and his belief in me. I was neither his athelete nor his student, but I always felt seen by him. My deepest condolences to Cathy; Cindy; Michael; dear, dear Deb & the rest of Red's family. I know a little boy in heaven that will love having such a special "Coach" on his side.
With loads & loads of love,

My mentor. My first high school football coach. A man that taught me the essentail things in life; commitment, caring, integrity, character and how to treat others as you wish to be treated. I loved Coach Caughron and will always remember him as a gentlement, a competitor and a caring gentle man. God Bless Coach Caughron

How incomplete I would be if not for having been filled with the blessing of Coach Caughron in my life. Words cannot express the magnificence of the portrait he painted on the canvas of so many lives. My heartfelt condolences to Cathy, Debbie and Cindy in this time of grief.
