PATTERSON, Melvinia Lewis, departed this life on Saturday, October 24, 2009. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Nannie Lewis; brothers, Edwin and Rueben Lewis; and sister, Sarah Ann Wyatt. She is survived by her three children, Gladys Patterson Grainger (Richard), Melvinia Patterson Wilson (Keathen) and Henry F. Patterson Jr. (Carol); five grandchildren, Hezekiah B.C. Jones, Dawn Wilson Kendall (Dante), Kellee Wilson Gwaltney (Martin), Henry F. Patterson III and Chandler D. Patterson; two great-grandchildren, Grace Kendall and Hailee Baker; three brothers, Linsey Lewis (Janice), Rev. Warren J. Lewis (Lillie) and Norris Lewis. Her remains rest at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home, 518 N. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va., and where the family will receive friends on Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 30, 2009, 1 p.m., at the Brown Grove Baptist Church, 9328 Ashcake Rd., Ashland, Va. 23005. Interment Lewis Family Cemetery.
