ROYE, Wyatt Earle "Pete", born July 31, 1938, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008 in Tappa-hannock, Virginia. Pete graduated from the University of Richmond and received his master's degree in business and health care administration from George Washington University. He was a hospital administrator in Baltimore, Maryland and Birmingham, Alabama. In North Carolina he was Assistant Administrator at Grace Hospital, Morganton and Administrator of Transylvania Hospital in Brevard before becoming Director of Management Services for the North Carolina Hospital Association in Raleigh. He retired to live on the Rappahannock River in Virginia, where he was instrumental in founding the Tappahannock Presbyterian Chapel. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alice Kent Roye; their son, Robert Douglas Roye of Monroe, Va.; their daughter, Catherine Roye Turner and her husband, Keith and their two children, Zack and Page of New Hill, N.C. His sister, Susan Roye Decker and her husband, Robert, live in Mechanicsville, Va. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 4 at 2 p.m. in St. John's Episcopal Church, Tappahannock. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. this evening at the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tappahannock Presbyterian Chapel, P.O. Box 983, Tappahannock, Va. 22560 or the Tappahannock Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 583, Tappahannock, Va. 22560.

Alice and family,
Pete was a friend and mentor as I learned hospital administration from him, as a rookie, while you were in Morganton and while he worked at NCHA. I am sure there are many others in this world he touched, like me, that made his life joyful and successful.
